Before the first conversation

Prepare your consultation.

The most valuable consultation is a calm, diagnosis-led conversation about the change you want, the teeth you have and the decisions in between.

A better first appointment

Bring a point of view, not a finished answer.

You do not need to know the exact treatment before meeting a clinician. You do need enough clarity about your goals, dental history and practical questions to make the conversation worthwhile.

01

Describe the change

Think in specifics: colour, length, edge shape, spacing, wear, symmetry or the way your teeth show when you smile. Also name the details you do not want to lose.

02

Collect references carefully

Images can be useful when you can say what you like about them: warmth, texture, proportion, character or softness. A reference is a starting point, not a template.

03

Share relevant history

Past orthodontics, grinding, sensitivity, gum concerns, restorations and dental anxiety are all relevant to how a clinician plans safely.

04

Ask what is reversible

Ask how much preparation is proposed, why it is needed and what alternatives exist. You should understand what will change before you agree to treatment.

Take these with you

The consultation shortlist.

  1. What is the health and bite diagnosis before we discuss aesthetics?
  2. Is porcelain the right material for my particular goal?
  3. What would no-prep, additive or orthodontic alternatives look like?
  4. How is the trial or design stage used before final ceramics are made?
  5. What are the likely maintenance and protection requirements?

Ready when you are
